Products

The centrifugal multistage machines (some times referred to as pumps, centrifugal machines, compressors, exhausters, blowers) are robustly designed and can be described as follows :

CASING

Depending on the model, the inlet and outlet heads and intermediate sections are made of either cast iron or aluminium. In order to meet the pressure requirements, it is possible to change the number of stages with a maximum of 10 on the small machines and 7 on the biggest ones. The assembly is made by stacking cast sections and connecting together with steel tied rods. The inlet and outlet connections are normally mounted vertically, but if required, they may be oriented differently. The sealing of each stage is made through a labyrinth system. To meet the requirements of some applications, a specific covering on the internal part of the body is possible.

THE ROTOR

The rotor is composed of a steel shaft with spacers. And impelers key locked to the shaft.
The impellers are either made in cast aluminium or are fabricated by riveting. Each impeller is statistically balanced. As for the rotor, it is balanced dynamically so as to ensure, while running, a vibration amplitude lower than 4.5 mm/s.

Different types of impellers are available (radial or back curved) in order to perfectly meet the different needs.

THE BEARING HOUSINGS

The bearings are mounted in cast bearing housings.

The bearing housings are securely fastened to the inlet and outlet heads and allow easy access for routine maintenance, without dismounting other parts. The bearings are the only contact point between the rotor and the stator of the machine. The sealing for the bearing is ensured through graphitised straps or 4-segment carbon rings according to the various applications. The sealing by carbon rings reduces leakage significantly. It is possible to have a pressureized gas sealing between the carbon rings.

According to the models, 2 types of bearing housings are used:
- the greased bearing housings with manual greaser
- the oiled bearing housings with a constant level oiler
