Bioventing Landfill Gas Extraction Biogas treatment |
| |
|
 |
Our multi-stage blowers are used for the vacuum removal of biogas from the extraction zone of the biogas to the combustion system (Burner, thermal motor, etc).
The CONTINENTAL INDUSTRIE centrifugal blowers are also used for the landfill gas extraction by vacuum of volatile organic compounds (VOC’s) through pumping wells.
The durability of the centrifugal blowers, their specific sealing system “biogas type”, and their performance characteristics, are all well suited to these applications requiring operation over a wide volumetric flow range.

VACUUM LIQUID EXTRACTION (De-Watering) |
| |
|
 |
Intermingling fibbers carry out the manufacturing of non-woven “tissue” under a water spray system.
Before drying this tissue in ovens, it is necessary to extract a maximum of water, in order to reduce the power consumed by the oven.
The CONTINENTAL INDUSTRIE centrifugal exhausters are used for this liquid extraction.
This extraction is accomplished by pulling air through the tissue at a high velocity.
By mechanically extracting most of the water from the tissue, you can greatly reduce the energy requirements of the more expensive heated drying process.
It also allows you to increase the production efficiency.
The quality, durability and high efficiency of our product makes liquid extraction an excellent centrifugal blower application.
NB: The non-woven tissue material is manufactured into many different products that are used in everyday life (cleansing cloths, paper towels, tissues, hospital disposable clothes…) |

SUBMERGED COMBUSTION (For cooking food or others)
|
| |
|
 |
The air characteristics and the reliability of our blowers are well suited for this application. One of the major advantages is that you can regulate the flow as required, with a corresponding reduction in power consumption. Our centrifugal blowers have a “Constant Pressure with Variable Flow” characteristic that saves energy at all operating flows. |

PNEUMATIC CONVEYING |
| |
|
 |
The durability and reliability of our machines are important for this application. In particular, for pneumatic conveying systems operating with vacuum, our cast machines that create the vacuum are less sensitive to the possible passage of particles through the machine, than other technologies.

CENTRAL VACUUM CLEANING |
| |
|
 |
The advantages of the cast iron or aluminium centrifugal multi-stage exhausters CONTINENTAL INDUSTRIE manufactures are mainly the simple design and mechanical reliability, both highly important for this application.
The air characteristics (variable flow with constant vacuum and driver shaft power proportional to the used flow) allow our machines to run with a stable flow no matter how many active operators there are.
The energy consumption is thus proportional to the number of inlet nozzles actually being used.
This operating characteristic therefore generates an important energy savings. |

VACUUM CONVEYING |
| |
|
 |
The robustness and the reliability of our machines are very much appreciated for this application. Particularly for the vacuum application of pneumatic conveying in vacuum because the centrifugal machines used to create a vacuum are less sensitive to the possible passage of conveyed particles, than other technologies. |

ELECTROPLATING TANK SOLUTION AGITATION |
| |
|
 |
For the optimum use of electrolytic baths, it is necessary to homogenize the baths by mixing them.
To carry out this mix, air is injected through nozzles at the bottom of the baths. The rising bubbles then impart a thorough mixing of the solution.
The features of the centrifugal multi-stage blowers manufactured by CONTINENTAL INDUSTRIE, are mainly the simple design and mechanical reliability, both highly appreciated for this application.
The air characteristics (variable flow with constant pressure) and driver shaft power proportional to the used flow) allow our machines to have a stable operating point, no matter how many baths are used.
The energy consumption is therefore proportional to the number of baths used and thus generates an important energy saving. |

COMBUSTION : OVENS WITH FLUIDIZING BEDS (FLUIDIZED BED COMBUSTION) |
| |
|
 |
The ovens with fluidizing beds are frequently used to incinerate waste products or sludge from wastewater treatment plants.
The principle of combustion by fluidizing bed is to “heat” a sand bed and to put the sand particles in suspension by an air injection nozzle system. The combustible material is then fed into the bed where the high sand temperature ignites the material, and the active movement of the fluidized sand particles, completes the incineration the combustible materials. (Thermal and mechanical effect)
The Centrifugal Multistage Blower supplies air, which “fluidizes” the sand bed.
This air is also used for the supply of necessary oxygen for the combustion of waste products.
The operating curve of the blower covers a large flow range, thereby allowing a variable flow rate that can be adjusted to match the quantity of waste products to incinerate.
Our blowers can also be used for the supply of air for the burner used to heat the sand bed. |

WASTE WATER TREATMENT |
| |
|
 |
The function of the blower, for this application, is to supply to air one or several tanks in order to bring oxygen to bacteria which must degrade the organic matter.
To inject this air, the blower must overcome the resistance, or backpressure due to the water height and diffuser/piping losses.
As the effluent quantity to be treated changes over the course of time, it is desirable to inject only the amount of oxygen necessary and in sufficient quantities to optimize the oxygen needs of the bacteria, thus making it imperative to have the ability to vary the flow while keeping a constant pressure.
The Centrifugal Multistage Technology allows variation of the flow by a simple regulation butterfly valve located at the inlet, and therefore energy consumption is in proportion to the actual flow point, thereby optimizing performance and minimizing power consumption at all operating conditions.
The MultiStage Centrifugal Technology offers the following advantages:
- Clean and dry, oil free high-pressure air without pulsation
- Wide flow operating range while maintaining a constant pressure
- Reliable and robust machines thanks to their simple design
- Cast construction for continuous duty service
- Low maintenance costs
- Very low sound level in compliance with OSHA standards

GALVANIZATION LINE, DRYING AIR |
| |
|
 |
To protect iron sheets from corrosion, manufacturers apply a galvanized coating to the sheets. For this, the iron sheet goes through a liquid galvanizing bath and re-emerges with a coating of non-uniform thickness.
To leave only the necessary and sufficient thickness to protect the iron sheet, it is necessary to take off the excess by the way of an air knife (air blast at the outlet of a slit type nozzle). The centrifugal blower is used to supply in air those air knife nozzles.
To obtain a good quality of coating, it is imperative to supply an oil free, non-polluted air stream, constant and without pulsation. One of the characteristics of the Centrifugal Multistage Blower design is to supply oil free, clean air and without pulsation.
Therefore our blowers are preferred for this application.
This Air Knife Technology is also often used to dry humid pieces (iron sheets, tins, etc) |

SULFUR RECOVERY (DESULFURIZATION) |
| |
|

|
The oil refining processes produce large quantities of waste gases with a high sulfur content. The sulfur must be recovered in order to meet environmental legislation that limits total sulfur emissions from the plant.
Our blowers are used in these Sulfur Recovery Units (SRU) to supply the necessary primary air to the furnace reactor.
The Continental Industrie Blowers can comply with the API 617 Norm 7 th edition with some minor deviations. |

CARBON BLACK |
| |
|
 |
Carbon black is produced from a petroleum oil based substance. The petroleum substance is fed into a specially adapted combustion chamber and heated to about 950ºC.
This process “cracks” the petroleum to form a gas and carbon black powder.
Those elements go through various filters, which extract the carbon black powder. This powder with added water creates larger granules. Those granules are processed dried and conditioned. This carbon black powder is used in a wide variety of products, including the manufacturing of pneumatic tires and printing inks.
As an expanding market, the demand for reliable and high-performance equipment in the Carbon Black field constantly increases.
Continental Industrie Blowers are used to supply air to the combustion chamber burners. The blowers characteristics, in terms of simplicity and mechanical reliability (simplified robustness and maintenance) and the performance curve (variable flow with constant pressure) make our equipments a perfect fit for this process
