The salt water is desalinated to produce fresh water suitable for irrigation and human consumption. The traditional process used in these operations is vacuum distillation, it is the boiling of water at less pressure than atmospheric pressure and therefore at a much lower temperature than normal.
This is because the boiling point of a liquid occurs when the vapor pressure is equal to the ambient pressure and the vapor pressure increases with temperature. Therefore, due to the reduced temperature, energy is saved. The use of multi-works for this process exceeds 85% of world production. Unlike other competitors that use semi-permeable membranes and the pressure to separate sales of water, a process known as reverse osmosis
